Adrian Cornelius’ career spans over 20 years of teaching and administrative experience and expertise in higher education, ranging from Assistant Registrar at LaGuardia Community College, Registrar for the New Jersey Medical School and the Graduate School of Biomedical Sciences at the University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey (UMDNJ), and University Registrar of New College of Florida.
Mr. Cornelius currently serves as Dean of Enrollment Management at Savannah State University, where he has continued to expand his supervisory knowledge as well as his leadership, operational, fiscal management, and federal and state financial aid audit resolution expertise. Overseeing a $2 million dollar budget (a budget distributed across recruitment and admissions, financial aid, registrar, academic advisement and mentoring, testing, first year experience programs, student retention and success, and student information system support), he has successfully implemented cost-savings measures while identifying areas of increased funding needs. As part of this position, he is tasked with pinpointing enrollment services strengths and needs; improving processes; acquiring and implementing innovative technology; developing and carrying out a strategic recruitment plan (including a robust prospects communications plan), and advancing a one-stop-shop customer service plan.
Adrian obtained a master’s degree in higher education administration from Baruch College at the City University of New York and is currently pursuing a doctoral degree in higher education leadership and administration at Georgia Southern University. He believes in the power of education to change people’s lives and is passionate about developing intentional service programs and opportunities for students, staff, and faculty.
