In 2007, Dr. Graham became the Director for Minority Student Education (MSE) at the California Institute of Technology (Caltech). Her team is responsible for supporting recruitment and retention of students from underrepresented and underserved minority populations. Prior to joining Caltech student affairs in 2007, she spent seven years as the Manager for Minority Education Initiatives (MEI), a group within the Education Office of NASA’s Jet Propulsion Laboratory (JPL). There, she was charged with overseeing JPL’s responses to Presidential Executive Orders on Historically Black Colleges and Universities, Hispanic Serving Institutions, and Tribal Colleges and Universities. She also carried out initiatives to support mission-based educational outreach programs targeting underrepresented and underserved communities.
Eva is a returning employee at Caltech; she began her career there as a summer undergraduate research fellow (SURF). She then spent eight years in the Thermal Propulsion and Engineering section at JPL. Prior to returning to Caltech, she taught high school sciences courses at Berkeley High School (CA) and served for two years as the Director of Outreach, Recruitment, and Enrollment for the National Action Council for Minorities in Engineering (NACME) in New York City. Currently, she represents Caltech in the Pasadena Unified School District Partners in Education Board and in the Los Angeles Trade Technical College Chemical Technology Alliance. Eva holds undergraduate and graduate degrees in chemistry from Xavier University of New Orleans and Tuskegee University (respectively) and a Doctorate in Education from The University of Southern California.
