Dr. Rooney has 30 years of successful enrollment management experience at private four-year colleges and universities. Most recently, he has served as Senior Vice President for Enrollment Management and Planning at St. John Fisher College (NY). During his tenure at Fisher, the institution has experienced dramatic enrollment growth, advancing in size from 2,300 students to nearly 4,000 students. This has resulted in an increase in net student revenues of more than $35M annually.
Before St. John Fisher, Gerry served as Dean of Enrollment Management at St. Francis College (PA). In addition to overseeing admissions and financial aid functions at St. Francis, he served as a member of the College Retention Committee and helped to establish and co-direct the Summer Orientation and Academic Registration (SOAR) Program.
Rooney has held leadership positions in several state and national organizations, including serving as President of the Pennsylvania Association of Catholic College Admission Officers and the National Catholic College Admission Association. He holds a Ph.D. in Educational Leadership and Policy with a concentration in Higher Education Administration. His research interests include college access for low-income, first-generation, college bound students and leadership development for higher education professionals. |
